Brought up in Hollies Road, Halewood, the son of Pam and Tommy Beesley MBE, Richard attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated with a degree and post-grad diploma in Jazz. Since then, he has forged a career as one of the most sought-after session players, playing saxophone and clarinet, both in the studio and on tour.

His credits include touring with artists such as Robbie Williams, Suzie Quatro, The Brand New Heavies and The Funk Brothers, as well as having recorded with artists such as Michael Buble, Rebecca Ferguson, Omar and Martin Barre. Richard has also worked on many theatre shows including Jersey Boys, The Band, Memphis, Heartbeat of Home and Calendar Girls.

Richard taught at London’s prestigious Harrodian School for ten years which he had to give up due to having so many touring commitments.
